Excellent piece as always, Julia. I'm impressed by seniors who perform athletically at a high level. I just don't appreciate the few who think it's the answer for all of us.

As for laughing at our fate, I'm all for it. The vast majority of folks who read my humor pieces about aging enjoy them. There are only a handful who accuse me of ageism and brag about their Olympian endeavors but I suspect they're just in denial about our common fate.
