In fairness, neither system is perfect. For example, I don't like the fact that I can't vote directly for prime minister but only for my member of parliament. In the U. S., voters get to vote directly for president, senator and representative. Yet overall I think the Canadian system works better by promoting cooperation and multiple parties.
