2. The so-called doctrine of Originalism is an abomination and can be used to uphold everything from slavery to same-sex marriage to denial of the vote to women.

3. Alito's decision claims that his "reasoning " will not apply to strike down same-sex marriage, birth control, etc. But read Thomas's concurring opinion in which he invites the Court to revisit these issues and more.

Alito, of course, relied on a 17th century jurist who proclaimed the marital rape exemption and executed women as witches.
