Sounds like the range of emotions I experienced as well. I suspect it will turn out great and you'll have lots of fun.

It was interesting to note at my 40th reunion that by the end of the second evening a bunch of us who had come from a different school after grade 8 ended up hanging out together at a friend's mother's home. It's as if we picked up from where we left off 40 years ago.

As for leaving the spouse, I think that's a good idea. My wife has never accompanied me on these reunions as she would be bored out of her tree.😊
